Improve your Smile
and Restore Your Confidence
While it’s vital to go to the dentist to protect your long-term oral health, that doesn’t have to be the only reason for a visit. If you aren’t happy with the appearance of your teeth or your smile doesn’t sparkle the way it used to, there are many cosmetic dental treatments that can help. Cosmetic dentistry is all about improving the appearance of your teeth and making you look your best. And, by improving how you look, you can improve how you feel too.
Cosmetic dentistry procedures work to change the aesthetics of your teeth, making them brighter, straighter and more even. The aim is to give you the best possible smile and to give you more confidence in how you look. However, while treatment is optional, it often has restorative benefits too. So, as well as improving the appearance of your teeth, you can enhance their functionality. It’s modern dentistry at its best, and you at your best too.

Filling The Gaps In Your Smile
We would all love to have a perfect set of sparkling teeth, but for many of us, that is far from reality. You may have had fillings when you were younger that have left your smile less than perfect. If you have amalgam fillings in your mouth, you’ll be only too aware of the silver patches in your teeth that are on show when you smile and laugh. The fillings stand out like a sore thumb and can make you incredibly self-conscious. Alternatively, you might have severely damaged or missing teeth that are tainting your appearance. Fortunately, there are cosmetic dental treatments that can help with all of these issues:
Composite White Fillings
If you are unhappy with silver or black fillings in your back teeth, you don’t have to put up with it. We can safely remove the amalgam from your teeth and replace the fillings with composite resin, a tooth-coloured mixture. The new filling will form a strong bond with your tooth to protect it from decay, will be durable and will look completely natural. Composite resin fillings can also be used to reshape disfigured teeth, placed carefully step by step to ensure each tooth is beautifully sculpted.
Inlays and Onlays
If the hole in your tooth is too big for a standard composite white filling, we can still fill the gap. Inlays and onlays are used to fill large cavities in the chewing surfaces of your back teeth and teeth cusps. Both inlays and onlays are indirect restorations, we’ll take impressions of your teeth, and then custom make them to fit perfectly. Our restorations are made of incredibly strong porcelain so not only will your repaired tooth be the same colour as your natural teeth, but it should be there for years to come.
Crowns and Bridges
Instead of needing to fill a gap within a tooth, you might need to replace an entire tooth. Fortunately, this again is something cosmetic dentistry can help with. Crowns, made from porcelain or ceramic, perfectly match the colour and texture of your existing teeth and can be cemented in place on top of an existing tooth or an implant to give you a natural-looking replacement. Bridges, meanwhile, can help if you need more than one tooth replaced, firmly attached to supporting teeth on either side to effectively bridge the gap and restore your smile.
Take Your Smile To The Next Level
When you think of the perfect smile, sparkling white teeth probably come to mind. Sadly, however, as we eat, drink and simply get older, our teeth can easily become stained and damaged. Stained teeth don’t have to be part and parcel of getting older, though. As part of our cosmetic dentist service, we can help you to change the colour of your teeth, making them lighter, brighter and more natural-looking. We can also help with more than stains. If your teeth are chipped or crooked, we can help to cover up the problem and quickly improve your smile. If you’re not happy with the colour or condition of your teeth, you may want to consider:
Teeth Whitening
If your teeth are discoloured or stained, teeth whitening can be an ideal solution. However, you’ll want to make sure you get the best possible result. Over-the-counter solutions often aren’t strong enough to make a significant difference, while bleaching agents may cause you discomfort. By coming to Bexley Dental to have your teeth whitened, we’ll ensure you’re comfortable throughout and will give you the control to decide which teeth we lighten and by how much. That way, we can return the colour to your smile and ensure it stays that way for as long as possible.
Veneers
Sometimes teeth whitening isn’t enough to brighten severely discoloured or damaged teeth. Fortunately, however, we can still cover them up. Veneers, thin slices of porcelain or composite resin, can be custom-made to fit over the front of your teeth. They fit perfectly, look natural and are long-lasting. So, whether you have stained, chipped or crooked teeth hiding behind them, no one will ever know. What’s more, they can replace damaged enamel to protect your long-term oral health.
